Sam Fisher to Return in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands

Well that's not quite what we were expecting.

Yesterday Ubisoft North America dropped a short video which featured a conversation between "paladin" and "matchwood" with the latter being voiced by Michael Ironside who famously voiced Mr. Sam Fisher. Before long it's made clear that matchwood is in fact Sam Fisher from the Splinter Cell series when his trademark night vision goggles fill the screen.

This crossover comes as part of season of content for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands which will be made available on April 10th. More details on the crossover itself will be revealed on April 9th just one day before it's all set to go live.

However it's fair to say that some fans are not overly happy with this announcement, trust me you don't have to scroll far through Facebook or Twitter to find enough disappointed fans that Fisher isn't coming back in his own Splinter Cell game.

That being said, is this something to be disappointed about?

Recently rumours flew out of the mill stating that Sam Fisher could be returning in a new Splinter Cell game this year. Ubisoft have yet to confirm or even deny that rumour but given that E3 is just under two months away it's looking more like that rumour could be true and that this crossover is just a way of reintroducing fans to the character since he's gone into hiding.

But as always take that with a grain of salt.

Spyro: Reignited Trilogy Confirmed for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

We're late with this one but let's get on with it.

After the huge success of Crash Bandicoot: The N Sane Trilogy last year Activision have decided to bring back yet another PlayStation 1 icon and that's none other than a little purple dragon called Spyro.

Currently being developed by Toys for Bob, the team that brought Spyro to life in the Skylanders series, the game will feature the three original PS1 titles, Spryo the Dragon, Spryo 2: Gateway to Glimmer (called Riptos Rage in the US) and Spyro: Year of the Dragon.

The games are being rebuilt from the ground up and will be "mapped faithfully". They will feature a new rewards system and control scheme with an independent camera, something that was missing from the original games thanks to the PS1 not having any analog features.

Voice actor Tom Kenny, who voiced Spyro in Gateway to Glimmer and Year of Dragon, is set to reprise the role and will recording lines for Spyro in all three games. Kenny is best known for voicing Spongebob Squarepants.

Currently the game is set to release on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One however a listing on the Nintendo Official Store suggests that the remaster may be making its way to the Nintendo Switch.

Spyro: Reignited Trilogy is set to release on September 21st 2018 for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
