Lady Gaga Rumored to Appear in Cyberpunk 2077

She's wowed an entire generation with her Poker Face, terrified us on American Horror Story and captivated us in 2018's A Star is Born.  Now it's looking like singer and Oscar winner Lady Gaga is set to enter the games industry, well, according to the French that is.

According to French website, Actugaming, rumor has it that Gaga was spotted at CD Projekt Red's studio and had stopped by to partake in a motion capture session,  however, given the nature of the story, this is very much a take everything you hear with a grain of salt situation. 

The article does suggest that Lady Gaga "would participate in Cyberpunk 2077 in one way or another" meaning she could possibly turn up in game as an NPC or maybe she's recording original music for the game's score, it's even possible Gaga is just there just to have a look at what the team has done with the game so far.

Adding more fuel to the fire, it appears that CD Projekt Red, known for The Witcher series, replied to Tweet Gaga posted way back in 2012, bit strange that they'd go all that way back just to drop a cryptic tweet don't ya think.

Needless to say, I highly doubt we'll be getting any confirmation on this rumor from Lady Gaga or CD Projekt Red but the studio is set to show off more from Cyberpunk 2077 at E3 this year so it's possible we might get a glimpse of how the singer is involved, of course, that is if she is involved.

Cyberpunk 2077 currently has no set release date but hopefully that'll change come E3 in June.

What Ever Happened To That Devil May Cry Reboot?

We're back chaps and today we're talking demon hunters, heavy metal and a whole lotta violence!

Devil May Cry 5 is here, releasing just eleven years after the last installment in the series. The game sees devil hunters Nero and Dante go head to head with some of the Underworlds toughest foes but their not alone, this time they're joined by V. He's mysterious, devilishly handsome and looks like he just waltzed out of The Black Parade.

It's a brilliantly old school game that's just damn fun to play and lets be honest, that's exactly what you want from a hack-n-slash title.

But boy, eleven years since Devil May Cry 4 and we're only getting this game now? I would say it feels like Capcom are poking a dead horse but they've done such a good job they might as well have given the horse mouth to mouth and brought back from the clutches of death. With that said though, you'd think they'd have given us something to tinker with during that time.

Oh wait, they did...

So... Who remembers DmC: Devil May Cry?

Developed by Ninja Theory and published by Capcom in 2013 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, it is the game that took the witty and comical demon hunter Dante, a character that a rather large number of gamers around the world loved and turned him into a huge ass. DmC: Devil May Cry is the game that left fans of the series shaking their heads in shame and others simply saying "yeah, it's serviceable."

Personally I enjoyed the game, you have to know, this was back when the only experience I had with DMC was from that one time I played Devil May Cry 4 for about fifteen minutes before handing the controller back to my mate and saying "ah yeah it's alright". Going back to the game now however, after playing through the entire series I can completely see just how much the game missed the mark.

But the real question of the hour is why? Why was this series rebooted? Did it need a reboot? Was DMC 4 that bad that it forced Capcom to completely restart scratch? Let's talk about that.

While neither Capcom nor Ninja Theory gave a definite reason as to why the series was being rebooted there are a number of people who speculate that the biggest cause for it was the lackluster response to Devil May Cry 4. While DMC 4 was a commericial hit it didn't get the response from fans Capcom were hoping for and the team set out to change the direction the series was heading in. Now to be fair DMC 4 isn't exactly a bad game, far from it actually it was just very obviously rushed out the door unfinished and well unfinished games do tend to generate a negative response. 

It is further speculated that Capcom weren't exactly keen on many of the pitches for the supposed Devil May Cry 5 which left the team stuck in a bit of a rut. This combined with the fact that series creator and director of Devil May Cry 4, Hideaki Itsuno and Hideki Kamiya, decided to step away from the series as they, one, wanted to work on other projects and two, felt that if the same team of developers and designers continued to work on the game it would become stale and turn players away. Eventually it was decided that the series would be rebooted, Capcom brought in Ninja Theory, based on their work with Heavenly Sword, to head the development and the rest is history.

Now look, I'll be honest, DmC: Devil May Cry isn't a bad game. It's not a great Devil May Cry game but it's not a bad game overall. Some sections are pretty enjoyable to play through, the boss fight against Bob Barbas is one of the most visually stunning fights I have ever seen and while the final boss was nothing special the fight with Vergil straight after is top dog.

But when you take into account that this game butchers the already established control system of the series which pretty much limits the amount of combos and moves you can perform and lets not even get started on what it did to Dante or else we'll be here all it day, it just frustratingly misses the mark by a mile and yet somehow that's kind of a good thing.

No one likes seeing a game not turning out the way they wanted it to but in all honesty had this reboot succeeded we probably wouldn't have gotten the newly released Devil May Cry 5 which takes the series back to it's roots and is all the better for it.
